Solanus wine event

Last night, I attended the annual Solanus Center wine event at St.. Johns Armenian church. Featuring over 60 world class wines, new and old world, along with many silent auctions, catered by a Chef, who’s name I unfortunately did not catch, I just know he used to work at the golden mushroom. Approximately 300 people were in attendance at this tasting put together by the great people at the Fine Wine Source. I wound up being a moment too late to get the tickets I need, wound up on short, and the owner, Jimmy, offered to sell me one of his reserved tickets for the inconvenience. All of the vendors were extremely knowledgable an charismatic, the wines were fantastic, and the food was far better than most catered parties of similar magnitude. I learned so much talking to the vendors, spending at least an hour at most tables, especially at the france and Italy table. There were many great personalities in attendance, including the owner of Assagi Mediterranean Bistro in ferndale. I am very much looking forward to going next year, and I would recommend you see me there.

About the Renegade Chef

We started this company a few years back because we love food. More importantly we love great food. Myself, i love weird food. We started off doing tapas paired wine tastings, and the occasional private dinner or event, and have enjoyed working all over metro detroit putting on pop up restaurants or brunches. We aim to build a network of like minded and passioned people. We hope you'll enjoy following our journey, and seeing what cranks out of the renegade kitchen.
