“Happiness is the real sense of fulfillment that comes from hard work.”

For the last week, Andiamo has been putting food in the bellies of every mouth visiting Belle Isle, and it was a lot of work. Executive Chef Jim Oppat and the Chefs of most of his restaurants worked dusk until well into the night to provide excellent food for thousands on a daily basis and I was lucky enough to be asked to help out for the last three days Cooking breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner for thousands every day is an exhausting task, and I can not tell you I’m not bone tired, but I truly had a wonderful time. There is something to be said about having a few good people to work with that you can rely on. Without that confidence in each others abilities, it is much harder to achieve the seemingly impossible. The hard work was worth it, and I am glad I had the opportunity to work with such passionate chefs.

About the Renegade Chef

We started this company a few years back because we love food. More importantly we love great food. Myself, i love weird food. We started off doing tapas paired wine tastings, and the occasional private dinner or event, and have enjoyed working all over metro detroit putting on pop up restaurants or brunches. We aim to build a network of like minded and passioned people. We hope you'll enjoy following our journey, and seeing what cranks out of the renegade kitchen.
